As I finish up our year end accounting and tax prep, I discovered something… A donation made for the last sale of 2016 based on our charity of the client’s choice program combined with the 4th quarter donation from our brokerage charity program we hit a huge milestone! We have now donated over $100,000 to various charities since we started these programs!
I wouldn’t normally make something like this public knowledge, because I’m pretty humble and quiet (Kinsey not so much), and we especially don’t like talking publicly about money. However, Kinsey and I decided to post this to have you help us get to the next big milestone. We’d also like to try to motivate others to give more as a part of their daily lives. We’d also like to thank our friends, family, and clients who have helped us achieve this by referring us and doing business with us.
If you had told us 10 years ago that we were going to donate this much to charity, we probably would have laughed at you. Sure it’s a nice thought, but we never would have expected to be able to do that. It really just took a commitment to give a little bit each time we made a sale. Then when we started Great Rock Realty, we decided to give a little of the profits from the brokerage each quarter too. It turns out when you commit to giving regularly, even if it’s a little at a time, the total amount adds up fast!
This first $100,000 milestone took about 7 years. We are shooting to hit the $250,000 mark within the next 5 years! You can help us do so, by referring your friends, and family to us for their real estate needs. We’d be happy to help!
