In recent years, the first Tuesday after Thanksgiving has become known as “Giving Tuesday”. This is a great thing to get people thinking about helping others among the consumerism of Black Friday and Cyber Monday. In fact many charitable organizations report that the largest percentage of donations they receive come between Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Any form of giving any time of year is great and Americans in general are very generous. According to Charity Navigator 358 billion dollars per year are giving to charitable organizations. We would like to encourage you to give year round, not just today or during the holidays. At Great Rock Realty we donate 10% of all our profits to charity every quarter. Our personal commissions, through Keith and Kinsey Real Estate, we donate 10% of every commission check to the charity of our client’s choice. This is where our slogan “Making a Difference, One Home at a Time” comes from.
I write this not to brag about what we do, but to get others thinking about how they can work giving into their financial plans. There are so many organizations doing great things that could use your financial help or volunteer time. Make giving part of your plan.
